I have been teaching at the Faculty of Law since 2005 and am currently an Associate Teaching Professor. Prior to my appointment, I worked as a legal advocate with the Together Against Poverty Society (TAPS) in Victoria, B.C., representing people in poverty and advising and representing them concerning their income assistance and employment insurance rights.

My teaching work is divided primarily between legal skills education and Administrative Law.  My main area of concern and work is the law as a means to address injustice and inequities in society.  My subject areas corresponding to this are Administrative Law with a focus on Social Welfare Law and Children and the Law.  In the community, I have served on the boards of The Together Against Poverty Society, The Law Centre and the B.C. Association of Community Law Offices.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, I am the Coordinator of the academic support services in the School’s Amicus Student Support Program.  I work to further the values and practices of the School with respect to equity and inclusion, and have been both a faculty member and Chair of the Equity and Diversity Committee.

The courses I teach include Legal Process, Legal Research and Writing, Law, Legislation and Policy, Administrative Law, Advanced Legal Research and Writing Social Welfare Law and Children and the Law.
