Transferring institutions

Transferring to UVic is easy!

Our department welcomes many students who transfer to UVic from community colleges or other universities. You can apply online. Many of the courses you have taken at college or at other universities transfer to UVic and can be applied to your BA in Pacific and Asian Studies. Within a few weeks after applying you'll receive a transfer evaluation telling you which course credits transfer to UVic.

Transfer credit from BC colleges will be assigned according to the equivalencies set out on the BC Transfer Guide (BCCAT) website for the year in which you took those courses. Transfer credit from other accredited institutions is determined by the department and Undergraduate Admissions. Visiting and non-degree students are not assigned transfer credit. An academic advisor can assist you with questions about transfer credits once you've been accepted.

Limitations on transfer credit:

There are some limitations on transfer credit.  If you are planning to transfer, please ensure that the courses you take are transferable. If you are transferring from a BC institution and are wondering whether the courses you have taken are transferable, check the section on Transfer Credits or check the BCCAT website (the BC Transfer Guide) for up-to-date information, or you can talk to an Academic Advisor or to our Undergraduate Advisor.
