PCH Air Balancing and Repairs Schedule Update Revision 2

Facilities Management, JB Sheetmetal and Rain City Technical will
continue their re-balancing of the Petch Building’s mechanical systems
over the next few months. Unfortunately, we need to adjust the schedule
to address unanticipated system repairs and to allow for the installation of
special- order parts. We are attempting to address the bulk of classrooms
over the next week and have selected air handler zones 1 and 2 for next
week to avoid class disruption.

We will not proceed with air handlers 4 and 6 the week of February 23-27
This work will be shifted to April.

As before, this work will involve air flow variation and technicians will be
in many spaces taking measurements. Fume hoods may appear to be
continuing to draw air, but airflows will be unreliable and may stop
abruptly, so we ask that you refrain from using them during this time.

Over the next few months, we will be wrapping up the building wide re
balancing with the following schedule and impacts. Except for the
restricted areas of the NMR space, technicians will be in and out of most
spaces several times during this effort. They have been trained in lab and
laser lab safety protocols
