Corrine Yang (kinesiology)

A student demonstrates how to use a machine in a kinesiology office.

UVic kinesiology student Corrine (she/her) worked as a student kinesiologist at a neurological rehabilitation facility in Surrey, BC.

Putting skills and knowledge into action

"I worked directly with clients with stroke, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological conditions," she says.

This included supporting individualized rehabilitation programs, leading therapeutic exercise sessions, and taking on independent neurological physiotherapy sessions.

The value of co-op

"This co-op was very impactful to me as an undergraduate scholar," says Corrine.

"This experience has strongly influenced the paths and careers that I am considering post grad. It was very fulfilling to work with the vulnerable population and know that I was making a difference in the lives of the patients."
