CourseSpaces Scheduled Maintenance - January 23

PaperCut planned monthly system maintenance

Planned Monthly System Maintenance

Effective 2 hours ago: On January 23, starting at 8:00 p.m., University Systems will be performing planned maintenance on a number of administrative systems. This maintenance will result in a 60-90 minute scheduled outage of several enterprise applications. System maintenance windows are available here: https://www.uvic.ca/systems/status/monthlypatching/maintenance/index.php

NETDRIVE Maintenance: Thursday, Jan. 23rd @ 11:00PM

Effective date: January 24, 2020 at 07:00:00 am(19 minutes from now)

Effective 19 minutes from now: We will be performing routing maintenance on NETDRIVE beginning at 11:00PM on Thursday, January 23, 2020. The work should be completed by Midnight.

During the maintenance window, the server will be restarted & the following services will be affected:

- all Windows shares beginning with \uvicstorage
- all Windows shares beginning with \netdrive
- all MacOS volumes served from netdrive.uvic.ca

Please avoid using the services during the maintenance window. If you can't avoid using the services, save your work often to minimize the possibility of losing work in progress.

UVIC & OAK DC Maintenance: Thursday @ 11:00PM

Effective 19 minutes from now: We will be performing routine maintenance on the UVIC & OAK Active Directory Domain Controllers beginning at 11:00PM on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020. The work should be completed by Midnight.

There is no anticipated interruption in service and no action is required on your part.

Scheduled cascade outage

Cascade, the university's web content management system, will be unavailable for part of this weekend to perform a planned upgrade.

The system will be unavailable from Friday, January 24, midnight to Saturday, January 25, 8:00 a.m. We expect it to remain very slow on Saturday, January 25, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Live websites will not be affected by this outage.

Please make sure all necessary website publish jobs are complete before midnight on Friday, January 24.
