Microserve eStore

We've partnered with Microserve to provide an online storefront where you can buy a range of standard computers and accessories using a streamlined, simplified and expedited workflow.

Standard computers:

  • are delivered within 2 business days (if they're in stock)
  • come loaded with productivity software to get you started quickly
  • have been thoroughly tested with the UVic network and systems
  • meet or exceed UVic's information security standards for confidential data
  • can have warranty repairs done on campus
  • have already passed technical approval

Go to the eStore user guide in SharePoint.

Need a non-standard or custom computer? Contact IT support or the TSC for a consultation or quote.

For
Employees (not including affiliates and emeriti)
Website
Microserve eStore (UVic)

Orders must be approved by a budget administrator. If you're not sure how to start a request, ask your supervisor, department admin, faculty sponsor or PI.

Restrictions & limitations

To place an order, you'll need:

  • an active UVic employee role
  • an on-campus delivery address including build name and room number
  • the FAST account to fund the purchase
  • the preferred email for your department's approver
    • typically the same person who has signing authority for that FAST account

You can't use the Microserve eStore if:

  • you're buying a non-standard device
  • you're using funds from more than 1 FAST account
  • you're using research funds

If you're using multiple or research accounts, you can still buy standard computers, but you'll need to use WebReq to submit the purchase to Purchasing Services. If you're not a WebReq user, your department admin officer will probably be able to help you submit an order.

Non-standard computers

If you need a non-standard computer, you can contact the TSC for a quote. Non-standard computers must pass technical approval.
