About

I grew up on Haisla Territory in a Sikh household and am very much shaped by the values and culture of my family faith and growing up in a coastal, remote and multicultural community. I’ve been practicing Theravadan Buddhism since 1998 and have been trained as a Buddhist Eco-Chaplain through the Sati Centre for Buddhist Studies.

I came to this role with 25 years of experience in community development and at a time when I was ready to integrate my leadership work with spiritual care. I feel grateful to work alongside the Spiritual Care Providers to create a welcoming space for pause, reflection, and belonging on campus.

With humility, I give thanks to the lək̓ʷəŋən speaking peoples and the stewards of these lands and waters - past, present and future. May we remember our interconnectedness and live and act with respect and reverence for all of life.
