Academic unit advisers
Academic unit advisers are faculty members who advise students in the schools and departments within the Faculties of Humanities, Science, and Social Sciences. Their responsibilities include providing advice on course selection and sequencing, introducing students to the culture and expectations of the academic unit, and considering requests for course substitutions and waivers when there are compelling reasons to do so.
Before you contact your adviser, please
- review the calendar entry and/or program planning worksheet for your program,
- review your CAPP report (if you have declared your program), and
- consider and prepare your questions for the adviser.
Preparation will ensure that you make good use of your (and the adviser's) time.
