GASEOS - General Assembly of Students in Earth and Ocean Science

Undergraduate student event
GASEOS student event, 2023

The General Assembly of Students in Earth and Ocean Science (GASEOS) is the UVic Undergraduate Course Union for students in Earth and Ocean Sciences (EOS). The group is made up of EOS students who prioritize building a community to maintain strong friendships, connect students with the SEOS department, and provide a wide network of contacts for all students.

GASEOS schedules regular general meetings highlighting our events or those hosted by SEOS throughout the semester. Students get to gather, share their opinions, eat free pizza, ask questions about anything SEOS related, and so much more!

GASEOS is run by an awesome exec team of EOS undergraduate students in different years of their degree. There are many different but equally important positions within the exec team with a wide variety of options for anyone. Some of these positions include Co-Presidents, a Treasurer, a Secretary, some Event Coordinators, Social Media Executives, and many more. We elect new exec members at our December general meeting. Exec members can often be found in the Bob Wright Centre and are happy to answer questions, provide relevant contacts, or chat about life in SEOS!

We are very active on Instagram where we post updates about upcoming events, general meetings, job postings, and fun interactive posts for all the earth lovers out there! You can also contact us on Facebook, Linkedin, and by email.
