Sessional Instructor
REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST CUPE 4163 (COMPONENT 3) SESSIONAL LECTURERS
Expressions of interest are invited from qualified instructors who are interested in teaching one or more undergraduate courses in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 sessions.
The school’s instructional needs change each session. Here is a list of courses not already assigned and expected to be available for sessional lecturers:
Fall 2026 (September – December 2026)
Schedule: Monday, Thursday 1:00PM – 2:20PM
Schedule: Monday, Thursday 11:30AM – 12:50PM
EOS 350 – Understanding the Oceans
Schedule: Monday, Thursday 11:30AM – 12:50PM
Spring 2027 (January – April 2027)
Schedule: Monday, Thursday 10AM – 11:20AM
EOS 423/523 – Advanced Sedimentology and Stratigraphy
Schedule: Monday, Thursday 1:00PM – 2:20PM
Expressions of interest should be sent to Director of School of Earth & Ocean Sciences by email to seosdirector@uvic.ca c/o Administrative Officer thecjsmith@uvic.ca on or before noon on May 6 for the Fall 2026 Term and September 6 for the Spring 2027 term.
Applicants who have not taught for the school within the past 3 years are asked to include a CV and contact information for three academic references.
All applicants should include:
- a list of courses from the above list that you are interested in teaching; and
- any other information that may help the school to assess your qualifications for teaching the course or courses you identify.
All positions are subject to meeting minimum enrollment requirements, program requirements, and funding. University reserves the right to fill additional teaching assignments from the pool of applicants for this posting.
