Aloysius Kahindi

Canada Research Chair in International Sustainable Development, Inequality and Social Innovation – Tier 2

Research summary

Kahindi's research interests center on the intersection of the international business and strategic management, with a particular interest in understanding how host nations’ institutions and stakeholders affect the strategy and performance of multinational enterprises’ (MNEs) governance.

Kahindi is particularly interested in these issues in the context of frontier markets in sub-Saharan Africa—understanding the strategies and unique challenges faced by MNEs emerging from or entering into these countries for business investments as well as addressing grand challenges. He uses qualitative methods (e.g. ethnography, inductive, and historical methods) and field experiments for his research work to advance scholarly knowledge from sub-Saharan Africa.
