  • Limited seats are available for courses in Computer Science, Communication Design, and Media & Communication courses, and enrollment is subject to course pre-requisites and program capacity.

Credit

Credits at Mahidol:

  • Full-time option (7.5 UVic units): 16 credits per term at Mahidol 

Course Evaluations at UVic: 

  • Before departure, UVic students will be able to submit exchange courses to UVic for evaluation. The results will indicate how many UVic units each exchange course is worth, as well as the course equivalency.
  • Students must use the evaluation results to ensure their exchange courses credits add up to the equivalent UVic units. The total number of units for each exchange term should be 4.5 UVic units for part-time exchange or 7.5 UVic units for full-time exchange.
  • This course evaluation process will be made available and explained in detail during the pre-departure session in early October for Spring exchange terms and in late March for Fall exchange terms. Evaluations take 2-6 weeks to complete and will be emailed to students. 
  • Course evaluations results are tentative until the end of the exchange term, when a second, final evaluation is conducted by OREM using the students’ exchange transcript, and the results are applied to their UVic record.

  • After being accepted into the ICS Exchange Program, students will have the chance to submit exchange courses to UVic for evaluation. The results will provide updated unit and credit equivalency information.

  • There a number of private-run apartments recommended by MUIC, which range in price and are located in the Salaya district, near campus.

Medical insurance, immigration & arrival

Medical insurance: 
  • Exchange students require mandatory proof of international health insurance coverage that includes inpatient, outpatient, accident, and COVID-19 treatment at private hospitals.
  • The policy must be issued by an insurance company that is recognized and has a branch office in Thailand.
Immigration:
  • All students are required to obtain a Non-Immigrant Education (Non-ED) visa before entering Thailand.
  • Upon acceptance, MUIC will send a supporting letter to all students, to be used when applying for a Non-ED visa.

Arrival:

  • Orientation for exchange students is available in the days before the term begins.
  • This event bring students together to learn about MUIC academic policies, as well as useful tips for living in Thailand.
  • A field trip to experience Thai culture and ecotourism is also usually included in the orientation!
