The Dr. E. and Mrs. M. Von Rudloff Award

One or more awards are awarded to continuing graduate students with high academic standing in chemistry and interests in conducting research in environmental chemistry relating to pollution control.

Areas could include identification, removal and substitution of environmentally harmful chemicals, be they naturally occurring or of industrial and agricultural origin (e.g., polyphenols, dions, dirtepenes, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, industrial pollutants, heavy metal sequestering, etc.).

Approval of the recipients will be made by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Graduate Awards Committee upon the recommendation of a committee comprising of two elected faculty members of the Department of Chemistry. This award may be renewed for a second year on recommendation of the committee.

Eligibility

Normally, the minimum requirement for consideration is an A- average and any additional criteria that has been established by the donor. Awards are assigned based on nominations from eligible academic units. Unless otherwise noted in the award description, you must be a full-time graduate student. 

Retaining funding

Ongoing UVIc graduate funding requires students to maintain a minimum level of academic standing and some ongoing maintenance.
