Program delivery options
The Counselling Psychology MA program (thesis-based or project-based options) is currently only offered full-time, on campus. Due to the high level of class participation, as well as the two practicum placements with agencies in the community, there are no distance options available.
On-campus MA Counselling program (project or thesis option)
September entry (every year)
This program is a full-time and on campus program. Full-time refers to being available on campus five days a week.
For 2 years, you are required to take 3 courses each September and January term, which means a minimum of 35 hours per week to meet the program requirements (meetings, supervision, and courses etc.). Taking courses (2-3) in the summer term (May-June) is also required. The required coursework includes two placements with local community agencies: the introductory first-year practicum and the more extensive second-year internship.
The project-based MA typically takes 2 years, while the thesis-based MA typically takes 2.5 to 3 years to complete.
