All UVic students have a Microsoft 365 license, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.
Text-to-speech
- Microsoft OneNote is a popular note-taking program that works well with a tablet and stylus. You can learn more at Microsoft's OneNote training site. OneNote has both a dictation mode (speech-to-text) and a read-aloud mode (text-to-speech)

- Read&Write and Kurzweil 3000 are literacy aid programs that provide text-to-speech, text reformatting, note-taking, dictionaries, picture dictionaries and more. You can watch instructional videos about Read&Write on its YouTube channel, and you can watch instructional videos on Kurzweil Academy. You can try both programs for 30 days for free. After that, Kurzweil 3000 costs about $1000 and Read&Write costs about $180 per year.

- Otter is an automatic transcription service that will produce a transcript from an audio recording. Microsoft Word 365 provides a similar function but is limited to 5 hours per month
