University Systems is responsible for installing, configuring, upgrading, monitoring, maintaining and supporting UVic's databases, as well as dozens of enterprise and department-owned applications. These include applications hosted in UVic's data centres and cloud-based applications.

Application and database management is an interdepartmental service. Most new support agreements are made as part of an IT project.
