Earthquakes, active tectonics, imaging geodesy, earthquake seismology, tectonic geomorphology
Research focus
My group's main areas of research are earthquakes and active tectonics.
Much of our research focuses on the surface expression of earthquakes and faulting, drawing upon the twin fields of earthquake geodesy (how Earth's surface deforms during or between earthquakes) and tectonic geomorphology (how landscapes evolve over many earthquake cycles). These fields are complementary to earthquake seismology (the study of seismic waves propagating through the Earth).
