UVic health research and community connections receive a boost from new funding program

Eleven UVic research teams received $5,000 from Health Research BC. The Engage Award is the first funding opportunity in a new initiative that aims to support collaborative, community-connected health research across the province. These awards help ensure that research and knowledge mobilization are informed by the people who will contribute to and use research knowledge.

  • Marlise Hofer "Beyond smell loss: Addressing support gaps for people living with olfactory dysfunction following viral illness" in partnership with a patient 
  • Sam Liu "Aging at home today: Renewing community insights for healthy and independent living" in partnership with CanAssist
  • Michael Ma "Common ground on Pandora: Relationship building for overdose prevention in Victoria, BC" in partnership with SOLID Outreach
