Daily check-ins

If you are not fully vaccinated, please be sure to complete your daily check-ins with the University of Victoria, as well as ArriveCAN. UVic's Self-Isolation Program is intended to provide you with support, and ensure you keep well while in self-isolation. You can use the check-in form to report any issues or challenges you are facing, or you can email directly.

Getting vaccinated for COVID-19

All international students are eligible to be vaccinated for COVID -19.  Everyone is encouraged to get vaccinated for COVID-19.

If you got your first dose in another country, you can get your second dose in Canada.  Please call 1-833-838-2323 to make an appointment.

Current students can also book appointments to get their shots at the Student Wellness Centre starting Sept. 14.

Programming and social supports

The UVic Global Community offers weekly Global Community student social drop-in sessions, and other online programming to help you keep connected with the student community, and hosts online and video-based resources to help you get to know UVic and Victoria better while in self-isolation.

UVic Student Wellness Centre

The Student Wellness Centre (SWC) is made up of Counselling, Health and Multifaith. The SWC aims to provide holistic care to support UVic students’ wellbeing emotionally, physically and spiritually. The SWC team includes counsellors, doctors, nurses, administrative staff, chaplains and other practitioners.

  • Multifaith: Staying connected to community and practicing mindfulness can help with feelings of isolation. Check out the programs Multifaith is offering, or connect with a chaplain directly.

  • Breathr App provides opportunities for users to try out a variety of mindfulness practices, while also teaching interesting facts about the brain science behind those practices
  • TruReach Health App is an app for "mental wellness on-the-go". Engaging lessons and activities to help you enhance your mental wellness. 
  • MindShift™ CBT App can help you learn to relax and be mindful, develop more effective ways of thinking, and use active steps to take charge of your anxiety.
