Overview

Are you planning on participating on exchange, co-op, or another UVic mobility program? Join SDGs-in-Action, a free, optional online course to get more out of your international experience!

Why join?

This course is certified by CIFAL Victoria, an accredited United Nations (UN) International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders (known by the French acronym CIFAL). CIFAL Victoria provides certification for training courses that build the capabilities of individuals and communities towards the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Participants who successfully complete this course are eligible to receive a Certificate of Completion co-signed by UNITAR (United Nations Institute for Training and Research) and CIFAL Victoria.

What Is SDGs-in-Action?

SDGs-in-Action is a short, flexible online learning opportunity designed to help you make the most of your time abroad by linking your experience to real-world challenges.

  • 100% online and asynchronous

  • 6–8 hours of content

  • Receive a Certificate of Completion from UVic, CIFAL Victoria and the UN

  • Open to students on international exchange, co-op or other UVic international mobility programs.

How it Works

  1. Begin the course either before, or at the very start of your international opportunity.
  2. Complete 4 short learning modules via BrightSpace, at your own pace.
  3. Design and execute, or actively participate in a community engagement project at your host university.
  4. Submit a final reflection to receive your certificate of completion!

SDG Success

Every student’s journey is different. This course helps you make meaningful connections between your international experience and the global goals. Your contributions are impactful!
