Paris on Stage field school

Paris on Stage 2023

Immerse yourself in Parisian life! Paris on Stage is a transformative adventure in the heart of the French capital. Through museums and theatrical performances, you'll explore how Paris is represented in both past and present.

Structure

The Paris on Stage field school begins with a week of classes at the University of Victoria in early May, followed by 2 weeks in Paris. Students will complete coursework by the end of June. This 3.0-unit, 300-level course (FRAN 360) is taught in French and is evaluated pass or fail.

Registration

Please send registration materials to the field school instructor.

  • statement of purpose: A one-page summary of why you want to participate in the field school, your experience with the French language and culture, and theatre in general, due Nov. 1 
  • oral interview: beginning from Nov. 15 
  • registration form: due Nov. 30

The course is limited to 20 participants.

Costs

The program cost is $3000 (subject to change).

Included in program cost: 

  • Paris youth hostel accommodation (breakfast included)
  • cultural activities (museums, shows, tours)
  • final meal food cost

Not included in program cost:

  • tuition
  • round trip airfare
  • additional meals
