The School of Nursing is recruiting for sessional lecturer opportunities for courses offered in the Spring term. Appointments will commence May 1st through August 31th, 2026.

Important dates

Qualifications
Qualifications for all candidates:
- Required education:
- NURS Undergraduate courses:
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
- Master’s degree preferably in Nursing or other health related field
- NURS/NUED Graduate courses:
- PhD in Nursing or other health related field
- NUNP (Nurse Practitioner) courses:
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
- Master’s degree in NP program
- Active registration and in good standing with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Experience teaching in post-secondary as a primary instructor is an asset
- Demonstrated ability or capacity to teach in practice and classroom settings (face-to-face and online), including familiarity with online technology, enhanced, experiential, and simulation learning environments is an asset
- For practice courses, must be willing to travel to various practice settings for student visits locally (BSN) and provincially (NP) as NP placements are situated within various health authorities within BC. Travel is reimbursed according to University policy.
- NURS Undergraduate courses:
Qualified Nurse Practitioner applicants for NUNP courses will have:
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
- Master’s degree in Nursing – NP program
- Active registration and in good standing with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a Nurse Practitioner
- Demonstrated expertise and experience as a Nurse Practitioner in primary care settings
- Demonstrated ability to teach in practice, and in online settings, with a willingness to teach and/or have experience teaching online using technology-enhanced and with experiential learning management systems
***Note: the Nurse Practitioner program is offered only through online distributed learning and may have several weeklong intensives (on-site in Victoria or online) scheduled throughout the academic year.
