Online room bookings are reserved for UVic School of Music students, faculty, and staff. A UVic Netlink ID and password are required. Click "Book a room" to view the room schedules and request a booking.

CReaTe Lab (Rm. B004 and B008)
Book CReaTe Lab (Rm. B004 and B008)
CReaTe Lab is the UVic School of Music's recording studio, mixing facility and space for creative exploration and research. It is comprised of two spaces, the Control Room and Live Room. Both the Control Room and Live Room are available to students in the MUCS program currently enrolled in MUS 406A&B, MUS 407, as well as students in the Masters of Music in Music Technology program with no course requirement. MUS 306 students have access to the Live Room and MUS 307 students have access to the Control Room for one course assignment. The CReaTe Lab is located on the lower level of the MacLaurin B-Wing. Reservations are limited to 3 hours per day, per week. Advanced booking is appreciated, as is cancellation if a booking will not be used.
Practice rooms (School of Music students)
Practice rooms must be booked in advance. Students may book up to 2 hours per day. An additional 2 hours may be reserved if available as of 8am of the same day of booking.
UVic community bookings (Rm. B030)

The School of Music has one practice room with a piano available to members of the UVic community (students, staff and faculty). It is located on the lower level of the MacLaurin B-Wing. The room may be reserved for up to two hours per week. Advanced booking is required.

NEW POLICY: Private teaching at the School of Music (for students only)
*Effective February 17, 2023
Students are permitted to teach or tutor privately in School of Music practice rooms provided they get insurance for private teaching. UVic School of Music students shall obtain and maintain Commercial General Liability Insurance with a limit of not less than $2,000,000 inclusive per occurrence for bodily injury, (including death) and damage to property. The University of Victoria must be named as an additional insured on the policy, but only with respect to activities related to teaching within the UVic School of Music’s facilities. Students should obtain General Liability coverage* at www.eventpolicy.ca
