Mathematics and Science Education

M.Ed. (Math and Science Cohort)

Our M.Ed. is a two-year program focusing on critical issues and contemporary trends in curriculum and pedagogy of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Students will explore foundational topics in curriculum studies with a focus on the history of STEM curriculum and issues related to STEM philosophy. Additionally, STEM-based theories, culturally responsive discourses for teaching and learning, problem-based learning as well as technology to support school mathematics and science.

M.A. and PhD

Applicants to our M.A. and Ph.D. programs in Educational Studies may choose a focus of mathematics education, science education or STEM education. Students are asked to consider the expertise of faculty members in the area and working together with their supervisor, develop an individualized programme of study designed to culminate in a substantial research contribution to the field. Faculty in mathematics and science education have a wide range of interests covering related areas of teaching, learning, and research.
