SAS is a statistical software package produced by SAS Institute Inc.
What is the cost?
The University of Victoria currently holds a site license for SAS 9.3 and 9.4, which can be used free of charge for educational purposes.

End User License Agreement
The use of SAS is governed by the following usage statement from SAS Institute Inc:
"The software shall be used for classroom instruction or research directly related to classroom instruction for the post-secondary, degree-granting institution. The institution can distribute software internally to the students and faculty members. The software can also be used for the general operation of the institution or affiliate. However, students, faculty members and staff of the degree-granting institution or affiliate cannot use the Software for commercial purposes."

Software download
This zip file can be used to install SAS directly and does not need to be burned to a CD/DVD first. Please be aware that the download will take several minutes to complete.
- SAS 9.4 for Windows - 14.0 GB (restricted to NetLink IDs, on campus only)
- SAS 9.3 for Windows 64-bit - 11.5 GB (restricted to NetLink IDs, on campus only)
- SAS 9.3 for Windows 32-bit - 11.4 GB (restricted to NetLink IDs, on campus only)

Software renewal
The following files are required to renew your SAS license each year. These are applied using the "Renew SAS Software" program found in the SAS program group in the Start menu.
- SAS 9.4 license renew file for 2022-2023 - 5 kB (restricted to valid NetLink IDs)
- SAS 9.3 license renew file for 2022-2023 (32-bit) - 5 kB (restricted to valid NetLink IDs)
- SAS 9.3 license renew file for 2022-2023 (64-bit) - 5 kB (restricted to valid NetLink IDs)
