Appointments within CUPE 4163 (Component 3) 

The Department of Political Science at the University of Victoria seeks Sessional Instructors for the 2026-27 academic year comprised of three terms: Summer term – May-August 2026, Fall term – September-December 2026, and Spring term – January-April 2027.

Interested individuals should apply to the Chair, Dr. Feng Xu, Department of Political Science, University of Victoria, P.O. Box 1700, STN CSC, Victoria, BC Canada V8W 2Y2 by e-mail poliapps@uvic.ca to arrive by no later than 4 PM ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2025. Applications should include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae and the names and contact details of three referees.

The cover letter should indicate which courses the applicant would be prepared to teach and what qualifications the applicant has for teaching these particular courses. The Department is seeking qualified instructors across the range of fields in the department, in particular, courses that are numbered in the program as follows: international relations, public policy, Canadian constitutional politics, electoral politics, political theory, comparative politics. Specific course offerings will depend on the availability of qualified instructors and are subject to final budgetary approval. Unexpected vacancies may occur at any time. Qualified individuals living (or expecting to live) in the Greater Victoria area are especially encouraged to apply, and to maintain a current statement of interests and qualifications on file with the Chair.
