Contact Academic Advising for Humanities, Science and Social Sciences for questions about graduation, CAPP reports, satisfying majors and minors in other departments, etc. They can also help with university policies and procedures.
Geography undergraduate advising
For help with:
- choosing classes
- registration
- transfer credits
- meeting pre-requisites
- pre-requisite overrides
- advice on directed studies and your major or minor
- honours or co-op questions

- your full name
- your student number (V#)
- a brief description of what you need help with

For the BSc Climate Science program, please email climateadvising@uvic.ca.
We offer 4 study focus areas: physical geography, human geography, environmental geography and geomatics. Select some upper-level courses and work backwards from there to create your program plan.
If you want a pre-requisite waived, the first step is to get written permission from the instructor. After you have that, send the following to geogadvising@uvic.ca:
- a copy of the course instructor's written permission
- a pre-requisite waiver form with the student information and student declaration sections completed
For an override of the year standing requirement for a course, please email geogadvising@uvic.ca. Include your full name, student number and the course(s) you want an override for.
Overrides will only be considered if you are close to achieving the required year standing:
- first year: <12 units of credit
- second year: 12-26.5 units of credit
- third year: 27-41.5 units of credit
- fourth year: 42+ units of credit
