Students can get involved in undergraduate research in a number of ways.

Honours Program:
- Honours degrees are designed for students who plan to pursue advanced study and specialization beyond the undergraduate level. Requires the completion of an Honours Laboratory and an Honours Thesis, preparing students with the relevant skills to pursue graduate studies.
Co-op:
- The co-operative education (co-op) program allows students to gain relevant, paid work experience with companies and research organizations across Canada and abroad.
Volunteer:
- Undergraduate students may have the opportunity to collaborate with Physics & Astronomy faculty on research projects. Project availability depends on the faculty members they wish to work with. Please reach out directly to our faculty members for potential research ideas and opportunities.
Resources:
- The Undergraduate Research Position Planner is a tool designed to help facilitate an initial conversation between undergraduate researchers and their potential or confirmed faculty supervisors. Students may use this planner to gain greater clarity on details such as the nature of the role, expectations, time commitments, communication, and other key aspects of the experience.
