Religion & Diversity Project

Religion and Diversity Project logoThe Religion and Diversity Project (RDP) was housed at the University of Ottawa and funded by SSHRC. The project sought to identify the contours of religious diversity in Canada and the potential benefits of approaches to diversity that moved beyond tolerance and accommodation. The project’s comparative research placed Canada in the context both of other Western democracies and global patterns of migration, law, media, gender, and social change. We engaged religious diversity not primarily as a problem, but as a resource that could advance knowledge and enhance public policy decision-making.
