We offer online and in-person support. For online help, visit UVicLearn.

If you need help finding sources for an assignment, you can make an appointment with a librarian.

Writing and academic skills help

The Academic Skills Centre (ASC) is here to help with all your writing, reading and speaking needs, as well as academic integrity.

We offer tutoring, workshops and online resources for both undergraduate and graduate students. The ASC can also help you plan a study schedule, get motivated to study and prepare for exams.

(Note that we used to be called the Centre for Academic Communication.)

Math & stats help

The Math & Stats Assistance Centre offers help with 100- and 200-level math and statistics courses. We provide one-on-one drop-in tutoring.

You can also use our space to work alone or in groups. If you run into any problems, we have tutors on-site who can help.

Please note that tutors cannot help with graded assignments. Try asking about similar questions or concepts instead!

Physics help

Physics Aid Service offers support for all levels of undergraduate physics. We can help you understand concepts and tackle homework challenges. You can also visit us to prepare for midterm and final exams. Let us walk you through challenging problems at any level together.

Learning strategies

Study Solutions provides support based on each student's unique needs. We help develop strategies for success, including motivation, time management, note-taking and test preparation. For more help setting and achieving your academic goals, drop by or book an appointment.

Academic advising

The Academic Advising Centre helps undergraduate students with course selection and planning. We work with students from the Faculties of Humanities, Science, and Social Sciences.

We can also help you read your Curriculum, Advising, and Program Planning (CAPP) report and find the resources you need if you are in academic trouble. We are here to help you get the most out of your academic journey.

Drop by the Learning Commons to talk to an academic advisor from the Faculties of Humanities, Science, or Social Sciences. For other faculties, you can contact your advising office to make an appointment.
