Pathways to Permanent Residence Information Session

Are you an international student who is working towards completing a degree program at UVic? Are you thinking about applying for permanent resident status in Canada?

When you graduate, you will have a quality Canadian education, proficiency in at least one of Canada's official languages, and experience living (and maybe even working) in one or more Canadian communities.

In this information session, an officer from Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will provide an overview of how Express Entry works and explain possible pathways from study permit to work permit,and then to permanent residence. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and leave with more understanding about to the immigration process in Canada.

Topics covered in this session will include:

  • Post-graduation work permit overview
  • Federal immigration pathways to BC
  • Federal Express Entry system

Audience: International students receiving a degree, diploma, or certificate from UVic
