Graduate Research Symposium

The 28th Annual UVic BCMB Research Symposium is quickly approaching! This year the event will be held in person on Friday, February 23rd, 2024 in the Sngequ House room 101H from 9 AM to 5 PM. We'rethrilled to announce that Dr. Natalie Strynadka from UBC and Dr. Mariya Goncheva from UVic will be presenting keynote talks on their research.

de l'édition 2024 du Mois de l'Histoire des Noirs, le Département de français et d'études francophones de l'Université de Victoria ( DFÉF), en partenariat avec la Société francophone de Victoria(SFV), Association des étudiant.es africaines et caribéenes (AEAC) de U Vic et Cinecenta organise une série d' activités culturelles visant à informer et à sensibiliser le public de la région deVictoria aux réalisations et aux succès des personnes afro descendantes , et à les conscientiser aux défis auxquels plusieurs des communautés afro-descendantes font encore face au 21e siècle.

For the 2024 edition of Black History Month, the Department of French and Francophone Studies (DFFS) of the University of Victoria (UVic) has partnered with the Victoria Francophone Society (VFS),the African and Caribbean Students Association (ACSA) of UVic, and Cinecenta, to organize a series of cultural activities. These activities aim to inform UVic students, faculty, and staff, along withthe public of the Greater Victoria region, of the many realizations and successes of people of African descent. The activities also aim to raise awareness to the same public, of the challenges thatpeople from several African communities, and people from the African diaspora, still face in the 21st century.
