T’łat’laḵuł Trish Rosborough Memorial Scholarship in Indigenous Language Revitalization

One or more scholarships are awarded to graduate students enrolled in Indigenous Language Revitalization who are developing their own advanced language proficiency and have a strong record of contributing to their/a language community through their work.

Preference will be given to student(s) who have participated in a program or are working with the First Peoples Cultural Council (FPCC) and/or the First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) to advance language learning. Applications must provide evidence of the contributions to Indigenous language work that the applicant has made. Part-time students (enrolled in at least 1.5 units) are eligible for this scholarship.

Recipients will be approved by the Faculty of Graduate Studies Graduate Awards Committee upon the recommendation of the Department of Indigenous Education. Contact department for instructions on how to apply.

Eligibility

Normally, the minimum requirement for consideration is an A- average and any additional criteria that has been established by the donor. Awards are assigned based on nominations from eligible academic units. Unless otherwise noted in the award description, you must be a full-time graduate student. 

Retaining funding

Ongoing UVIc graduate funding requires students to maintain a minimum level of academic standing and some ongoing maintenance.
