Faculty of Science Research Scholarship
One or more scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding graduate students in the Faculty of Science who performs(s) multi-disciplinary and collaborative research that demonstrates innovation and potential for further development (i.e. a new technology, engineering, robotics, computer and/or data management).
This multi-disciplinary and collaborative research should be:
* between UVic faculties or departments,
* within a department (cross-divisional), and/or
* within the research community at large, such as at other institutions.
Applicants must demonstrate science communication skills. In addition to presenting at conferences or other science events, students are encouraged to engage in science public outreach activities, participate in student mentorships, respond to science media questions about their research, and/or obtain formal science education training. Preference is for students who are Canadian citizens.
Applicants must submit a 2-page CV and 300-word statement to the Faculty of Science summarizing how the applicant’s research and skills meet the award criteria.
Approval of the recipient will be made by the Faculty of Graduate Studies Graduate Awards Committee upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Science.

Eligibility
Normally, the minimum requirement for consideration is an A- average and any additional criteria that has been established by the donor. Awards are assigned based on nominations from eligible academic units. Unless otherwise noted in the award description, you must be a full-time graduate student.
Retaining funding
Ongoing UVic graduate funding requires students to maintain a minimum level of academic standing and some ongoing maintenance.
