Cecilia Tatti Tutcho Graduate Scholarship in Indigenous Language Revitalization

One or more scholarships are awarded to First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit graduate students in the Faculty of Education enrolled in a PhD program or the Masters in Indigenous Language Revitalization, who are developing their own language proficiency and have a strong record of contributing to their/a language community through their work. Preference will be given to students from Northwest Territories. 

Part-time students (minimum 1.5 units per term) are eligible for this scholarship. 

Approval of the recipients will be made by the Faculty of Graduate Studies Graduate Awards Committee upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Education.

Applicants who have indicated they are First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit for this award are required to demonstrate their eligibility for Indigenous-specific awards in alignment with the Indigenous Citizenship Declaration (ICD) Policy (GV0810).

Eligibility

Normally, the minimum requirement for consideration is an A- average and any additional criteria that has been established by the donor. Application details, deadlines and eligibility criteria are all listed in the award description. Unless otherwise noted in the award description, you must be a full-time graduate student.

Retaining funding

Ongoing UVic graduate funding requires students to maintain a minimum level of academic standing and some ongoing maintenance.
