Making a difference

With over 8,000 graduates in our nearly 50-year history, Fine Arts alumni are acknowledged leaders in Canada’s creative community, working in a variety of careers both at home and abroad.

Some — like Giller Prize winning author Esi Edugyan, Governor General’s Visual Arts Award winner Kim Adams, noted director Glynis Leyshon, sculptor Jessica Stockholder and One-Man Star Wars creator Charles Ross — have achieved international success, while others have become the backbone of the Canadian cultural sector.

Most of our alumni have used the skills they acquired studying here —creative thinking, collaboration, working to deadlines, writing and presentation skills, researching, editing, photography — as the foundation for their future careers, which are as diverse as our alumni themselves.
