Engineering Expansion Project – ECS: South Stairwell (S2) Exterior Exit Closed, Temporary Emergency Exit Only in Place

ECS south stairwell 2 and L1 atrium connection to new expansion building ECSE

In support of the Engineering Expansion Project, Bird Construction will be reworking the glazing and exit from the ECS S2 south stairwell. While this work is ongoing, the stairwell’s exterior exit is closed and the S2 landing is closed during daytime hours (open at the end of the workday).

Note: There is a temporary Emergency Exit Only route in place for the ECS while the S2 exterior exit is closed. This Emergency Exit route is through the new ECSE atrium to the west entry/exit (see attached map). This emergency exit should be used only if other ECS floor exits were unsafe to access. Campus Security fire watch is in place after hours while this work is ongoing. Note: There will be some noise associated with this work and from the adjacent construction site.
