Biosafety Cabinet Seismic Bracing

Various Lab rooms in Cunningham and Petch, and Cornett B218

Update: Cornett B218 install moved to Jun 19

Aral Construction and their subcontractors will be installing steel reinforcement on biosafety cabinets across campus. This will involve shifting cabinets within the room, power drilling through cabinet frames and concrete to install anchors. Cone barriers will be set up around construction areas, and medium/large rooms can still be used by researchers as work occurs at the cabinets.

Please review the table below for a list of impacted rooms and the schedule.

The day prior to start of Cabinet work, researchers/administrative officers will need to move equipment and materials inside and in the direct vicinity of the cabinets to allow them to be moved within the room to access the walls and floor. Cabinets will be recertified by Con-test prior to them being cleared for use. Please contact your administrative officer if support is needed.

Please contact your Administrative Officer and the Project Manager for any scheduling concerns around timing of these activities.

Various: June 4 through June 19, 2026
