CUN, PCH, COR Biosafety Cabinet Seismic Bracing – Installation Work - Revised 8.12.2026

Various Lab rooms in Cunningham and Petch, and Cornett B218

Update 2: Con-test ran into an issue with their equipment on Tuesday and will now begin recertification on Wednesday. This moves the recertification date for the following units:
PCH 248A Cabinet 61, PCH 251B Cabinet 38, PCH 252 Cabinet 82, PCH 252 Cabinet 86, CUN 160C Cabinet 75.

Update 1: revised CUN 162 and CUN 040 timing.

Aral Construction and their subcontractor will be completing their install of steel reinforcement on biosafety cabinets across campus.  

Some of the units require simple work of tightening bolts and attaching fasteners that will be done without moving the cabinets. Others will require shifting cabinets within the room, power drilling through cabinet frames and concrete to install anchors and then recertification from Con-test prior to being returned to service.

Cone barriers will be set up around construction areas, and medium/large rooms can still be used by researchers as work occurs at the cabinets.
