Building flood

Floods inside buildings can happen fast. Even a small amount of water can cause serious damage. While groundwater flooding is rare at UVic, leaks, broken pipes and sprinkler problems can happen.

What to do

  • Avoid floodwater—it could be electrically charged or contaminated.
  • Call Campus Security at 250-721-7599 to report the flood.
  • If safe, move valuables and hazardous items/chemicals to higher ground.
