Honours in Computer Science, Minor in Mathematics, graduated with a BSc in May 2021

Keanu Enns is the 2021 winner of the Department of Computer Science Honours Graduation Medal. He shares a few thoughts as he embarks on the next phase of his journey.
Thoughts about graduating: I am definitely excited to take the next steps into life. I have learned a lot during my time at UVic, and am looking forward to learning more.
Favourite UVic experiences: I could list many, but I really loved some of the stories Bill Bird and Rich Little told in their classes. I just really love to laugh, and thankfully there have been many days filled with laughter during my degree here.
Plans for the future: I plan to complete a MSc in Computer Science at UVic right away (in fact, I have already started it). My wife also plans to enter veterinary school at some point in the near future, and I plan to follow her there.
Message to other grads: Though many computer science students may recognize me by my loud and obnoxious laugh, I only got to know a few of my classmates during my degree. It has been an honour working with you all, I hope you find the truth as you sift through the many voices this world has to offer, and I hope that the work you set yourselves to has meaning and makes the lives of those around you better. I would like to give a special shout out to Nat Comeau: I didn’t expect to find a friend like you at UVic, thank you for all the support, encouragement, and wisdom you have given me; I am very thankful to have you as my friend.
Anything else you’d like to add? Firstly, I would like to thank Jesus, my God and the solid Rock I cling to through all of life’s troubles and joys. Everything I have accomplished is because of him. Thank you to my wife, Emily – you have been my faithful friend through the good times and bad. I love you more than words can convey. Thank you to all the faculty and fellow classmates that have made my degree such a memorable period of my life. I have grown and learned so much, and it wouldn’t be possible without all the great people at UVic.
