Self-help resources

You can set up your device in 2 ways:

If you need help setting up eduroam on your device, contact IT support.

Use eduroam’s Connection Assistant Tool (CAT) to set up your device to connect to eduroam. If you need help, contact the IT department at your home institution.

If you need to configure the eduroam network manually while you’re at UVic:

  1. Connect to the eduroam network (not the UVic network)
  2. Follow the instructions for connecting to the UVic Wi-Fi network
  3. When you’re prompted for a username, use the credentials given to you by your home institution. (In many cases, your username will be your full email address and your passphrase will be the same one you use to sign in at your home institution.)

The technical requirements for eduroam are the same as the technical requirements for the UVic Wi-Fi network.
