Bio

Jason joined the Economics Department in 2022 and has served as a labour economist with the Accelerated Community Energy Transformation (ACET) at UVic since 2024. His research applies econometric techniques to questions in public policy and labour economics. One theme examines the workforce implications of the clean energy transition, while another uses causal methods to study the labour market effects and political economy of occupational regulation. Prior to working in economics and public policy, Jason was a wildlife biologist and conservation geneticist and maintains an interest in applying causal inference to questions in wildlife ecology and management.
