Dr. Dordunoo and her undergrads' award-winning poster

October 29, 2026

Dr. Dzifa Dordunoo and undergrad researchers, Abbie Webb (Anthropology) and Zach Bortenlanger present their award-winning poster at the Sickle Cell Disease (SCDAA) National Convention in North Carolina.

Congratulations to Dr. Dordunoo and the whole Canadian research team for recognition of their important work that shifts the narrative on living with SCD beyond childhood survival to focus on quality of life at 35, 45, 55, and beyond.

By centering the voices and experiences of Canadian warriors, this research provides essential insights to prepare our healthcare systems, inform stronger policies, and drive better care.
