Analysis tools

Our analysis tools support the use of climate data for a variety of applications. They are produced from a solid foundation of in-house expertise.

Plan2Adapt

Plan2Adapt provides high-level, regional scale climate information for areas across BC, based on a standard set of projections. It is designed for any user looking to understand how climate change may impact their region. A number of user-friendly visualization formats are available, including maps, summary tables and trend graphs.

Design Value Explorer

Design Value Explorer supports the design of climate-resilient infrastructure across Canada. This tool provides historical and future-projected climatic design variables relevant to the National Building Code of Canada and the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code.

Climate Anomaly Viewer

The Climate Anomaly Viewer shows how monthly temperature and precipitation measurements at weather stations across BC differ from the historical climate. Maps are available for all months from 1970 to the present. Using this tool, users can learn whether observed conditions during a specific month differ from historical norms at specific locations in BC.

Climate Explorer

With Climate Explorer, users can visualize and download data describing projected future climate conditions for any region in Canada. Projected changes to temperature, precipitation and related climate and hydrologic extremes are available at a high resolution (10 km) for a range of climate models and future scenarios. With a more complex user interface than Plan2Adapt, Climate Explorer is designed to serve the needs of more technical users.

Salmon Climate Impacts Portal

The Salmon Climate Impacts Portal helps users understand how climate change may impact freshwater salmon ecosystems within the BC Coastal domain. Users can locate, visualize, summarize, and download data describing projected changes to streamflow and freshwater temperature.
