Our services
The Pacific Climate Impacts Consortium (PCIC) is a regional climate service centre at the University of Victoria that conducts applied research and provides practical information on the physical impacts of climate variability and change in the Pacific and Yukon Region of Canada. We collaborate with climate researchers and regional stakeholders to produce data-based products and online tools in support of long-term planning.
At PCIC, we offer a variety of services that reflect the needs, resources and skill sets of our users. These include:
- Analysis tools—enabling a better understanding of climate variability and change in British Columbia and across Canada. These map-based products provide information on the historical and future climate.
- Data portals—providing access to meteorological datasets, weather files, station data, climatologies, downscaled climate scenarios, and hydrologic model outputs for users to download and use.
- Publications—published by PCIC staff, including peer-reviewed papers, regional assessment reports, and PCIC Science Briefs.
- Software—developed by PCIC, for use in climate data interpretation.
- Guidance and training—on the appropriate use of our data products and analysis tools. We work with a range of users, contact us to learn more about how we can support you. PCIC is also committed to advancing reconciliation by collaborating with First Nations, Indigenous communities, and organizations across BC to support community-led climate planning and knowledge sharing. We invite First Nations and Indigenous communities to connect with us. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in these conversations and connect around our shared interests in increasing community climate resilience.
