Digital collections

The University of Victoria Libraries support a variety of digital initiatives to promote wider access to our unique collections. Our digital content ranges from the latest student theses and faculty publications to manuscripts from centuries past.

Vault is the digital asset management system used by UVic Libraries to store and provide access to digitized materials both from the rare and unique holdings in Special Collections and University Archives and from UVic Libraries’ project partners.

Spotlight is a digital exhibition platform for collections of born-digital and digital objects, which enables librarians/archivists, researchers, and community members to create unique exhibits.

Our Internet Archive collections facilitate discovery and access of research publications associated with the University of Victoria.

UVicSpace is an open access learning and research repository for published and unpublished digital scholarly works by the UVic community and its partners.

The University of Victoria Dataverse Collection of research data repositories serves our faculty, researchers, and students. Dataverse is a general purpose repository, suitable for all disciplines, and accepts a wide range of data types and formats.

The AtoM database contains descriptions of our Special Collections and University Archives records existing in many media and formats.

Open Journal Systems

The University of Victoria provides an online journal hosting service using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) software.

Our Archive-It web archiving service helps the Libraries to harvest, build, and preserve collections of digital content relevant to our community.
