Gain workplace skills and experience in a range of settings, including hospitals and health authorities, non-profit agencies, public health clinics and shelters, and federal, provincial and municipal government offices.

Through co-operative education (co-op), you can try different jobs, earn a salary, meet employers and gain relevant experience—all during your UVic degree.

Field education

Social work students gain work experience under the supervision of an experienced professional. Placements are completed in a wide range of community and government agencies and can usually be done in your home community.

Practicum

Psychology clinic

The psychology clinic at the University of Victoria is an outpatient mental health training facility for clinical psychology graduate students.

Get real-life experience providing professional psychological services to the community. These include assessments and therapeutic interventions for children, adults, couples and families.
