2025 Western Regional 3MT competition
The University of Victoria (UVic) hosts the Western Regional 3MT® Competition in which master’s and doctoral students from universities across Western Canada will compete for $3,000 in prize money and a chance to compete in the Canadian National 3MT event.
- First place: $1,500
- Second place: $750
- Third place: $500
- People's Choice: $250
The Three Minute Thesis is a competition in which graduate students take on the challenge of presenting their research in only three minutes to a non-specialist audience. This competition began at the University of Queensland and has grown into an internationally recognized event held by over 350 universities in 59 countries.
All contestants will present in person on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 starting at 2pm in the Michel Pujol Room, Student Union Building
If you are not in Victoria the event will be livestreamed and everyone will get a chance to vote for the People's Choice winner through an online survey.
