Delivery Mode: Fully online, with additional synchronous online meetings as required.
Instructor: Dr. Tony Vickery

THEA 150 : Public Speaking

Dates: May 11 – June 25 (Tue. Thu.)
Time: 6:30pm-8:00pm
Delivery Mode: Face-to-Face
Instructor: To be announced
Course Description: Find your voice and own the room.
This course introduces you to the fundamentals of public speaking - from crafting a compelling speech to mastering vocal and physical delivery. You’ll practice speaking with confidence while also learning to listen and respond as an engaged audience member, building skills that shine both onstage and off.

THEA 310 : Seminar in Theatre History I

Dates: May 25 – May 29 (Mon.-Fri.)
Time: 9:30am-5:30pm
Delivery Mode: Intensive, Face-to-Face and/or Online
Instructor: Dr. Sasha Kovacs
Course Description:

Go beyond the classroom and step inside a national theatre conference.

In this hands-on course, you will participate directly in the Canadian Association for Theatre Research (CATR) conference at the University of Victoria and online. Instead of only studying theatre history, you’ll experience how it’s made, supporting panels, attending workshops and performances, and meeting leading scholars and artists from across Canada.

Choose in-person participation (May 26–29), online participation (June 12–13), or a combination of both. Before the conference, you’ll join collaborative planning sessions and short lectures that prepare you to engage meaningfully in the event and its ideas.

You’ll build real professional skills in arts administration, research practice, and knowledge mobilization, while reflecting on your experiences through discussion and creative response.

Perfect for students interested in theatre, performance, research, festivals, or arts leadership — and a unique way to earn a Theatre History credit while networking in the field.

Limited enrolment.
